bci for asl/ssl

This is a research project that turned into a social enterprise supporting the Deaf community.

Why did we do this?

My team and I were thoroughly convinced that if Google could solve speech-to-text, we would be able to solve brain-to-text using electroencephalography (EEG).

Combining the two would effective break the communication barrier between the hearing community and the hard-of-hearing.

How did it go?

(2019) Our team won 3rd place and $10K SGD in the Create4Good Social Innovation Challenge to launch our start-up.

(2019) Formed a close working relationship with the Singapore Association for the Deaf to earn their endorsement.

(2020) Failed to achieve sufficient accuracy in brain-to-text training model - company dissolved.
