This is an outdoor installation created by my friends and I to bring the community together.

Why did we make this?

The correct answer is: To foster a friendly gift-giving, letter-exchanging experience in the community.

The truthful answer is: To use the budget to hoard material for our upcoming design project module, while also honing our laser cutting/engraving craft.

How did we make this?

(1) Look up and narrow down on 12 unique letterbox designs by country.

(2) Draw up the elements to scale on Adobe Illustrator.

(3) Breathe laser cutter fumes from 9 to 5 everyday for two weeks

(4) Build a fence that will not fall forward from the weight of the 12 letterboxes.

(5) Spend every other minute at the event trying to fix hinges, glue broken parts back and unstuck sliding components - my goodness we never imagined the public to be this violent (lol)

How was it received?

We got invited to set up our installation for the 2019 Night Fiesta event in SUTD. All we had to do was drape some fairy lights over it and we were good to go.

All illustrations and animations are designed by myself unless otherwise stated.
